Woodstock Golf & Games
Located on Route 47 in Woodstock, this venue has reasonably priced entertainment options that will exhilarate your kiddos! The owner of 22 years, Ron Sommers, is almost always visible at the property. So patrons know that they will receive the friendly service that comes from supporting a locally owned business.
The go-kart track is what first attracted us to Golf & Games, as there aren’t many go-karting options available in McHenry County. In fact, according to my research, this is the only one. The track winds around and is relatively compact, providing just the right amount of fun without being too scary. The go-karts can seat one driver or a driver plus a passenger. Please note that one must be 10-years-old and 4-feet and 6-inches tall to sit behind the wheel. Children as young as age three can hang out in the passenger seat if accompanied by an adult. Double go-karts are only available to drivers 18 years and older. We brought our four kids here on my oldest son’s 12th birthday, and we all raced at the same time and laughed like crazy. Drivers pay per person, per three-minute turn, and passengers get to ride for free.
After racing head over to the 18-hole miniature golf course, which is super cute with a house, castle, waterfalls, and other picturesque features, the mini-golf course provides the perfect way to unwind and bring out your competitive spirit. See who can get the first hole in one! Mini golf is $7.00 per person, and children age five and younger are free with each paying adult.
After you battle on the mini-golf course, head over to the batting cages for some practice with your future Cubs. Choose from pitching speeds of 20 mph, 40 mph, 60 mph, and 80 mph. These different speed options can easily accommodate all ages, even if mommy and daddy want to get involved. Pricing is per token or ten pitches. If you know you are in for the long haul, you can rent the batting cage for an entire hour at an affordable rate.
Finally, if you want to get out of the sun, check out the quaint arcade stocked with old school games such as Skee-Ball, Bozo Buckets, a small merry-go-round, and more. Game tokens are $1.00 for 3 tokens, $5.00 for 18 tokens, or $10.00 for 36 tokens.
Party packages are also available for parties or large groups. See the website for current package specials and rates.
This is such a fun afternoon and brought my husband and me back to our childhood as we competed with each other and our kids in fun-spirited, family battles! Although I’m not sure I will ever live down the very cautious pace of my go-kart…
