Weekly Events for Children with Special Needs:

Open Play
Every Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
GiGi’s Playhouse, 5404 W. Elm Street, McHenry
Families and their friends are invited to the playhouse for playtime. Open play helps promote positive beginnings for new families with a child with Down syndrome, creates awareness opportunities for peers and friends, and provides support and networking for families. Come ready for fun and a crazy good time! Open to families with children of all ages and their friends.

Creative Connections
Mondays 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.

Algonquin Area Public Library, 2600 Harnish Dr., Algonquin | (847) 458-6060
A storytime for children ages 0-5 to make connections with their caregivers, other children, and literacy. Run by a speech therapist from Elgin Pediatric Therapy, this group is designed for children currently receiving therapy services or those who may benefit from therapeutic play, yet children with all abilities are welcome.


Special Events for Children with Special Needs:

Everyone at play
18 November, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Kohl Children’s Museum, 2100 Patriot Boulevard, Glenview
This special morning event offers free admission to families with children with special needs to explore the Museum exhibits in a controlled, quieter environment. *Registration required*

LMNOP
24 November, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

GiGi’s Playhouse, 5404 W. Elm St., Suite A., McHenry
LMNOP: Language Music N’ Our Peeps is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities.  LMNOP is recommended for ages Newborn-36 months.
