Memorial Day in McHenry County

Memorial Day is more than just a kick-off to summer. It’s an important day to remember those who have served our nation in the armed forces. What a great opportunity it is to teach our kids about having pride in our country and being grateful for the many men and women who have made sacrifices for us. This year, on Monday, May 27th, your family can join one of the many Memorial Day parades and ceremonies in McHenry County and honor the heroes who have made America the country we love.

Memorial Day Parades | Memorial Day Ceremonies

Memorial Day Parades in McHenry County

All parades and services are on Monday, May 27 unless otherwise noted. Please be sure to check the link for organizer information in the event of inclement weather. Little McHenry County is not responsible for changes or cancellations.

Barrington: 10:30 a.m., beginning at Cook and Main Streets and ending at Evergreen Cemetery for a Remembrance Ceremony.

Crystal Lake: Kick off at 11:00 a.m. from Crystal Lake Central High School and travels east on Franklin Ave to Williams Street North, West on Woodstock Street to Union Cemetery where it concludes with a memorial service.

Huntley: Parade begins at the Municipal Complex at 11:00 a.m. and proceeds to the Town Square.

Woodstock: Immediately following the memorial ceremony there will be a parade around Woodstock Square.

Memorial Day Ceremonies in McHenry County

Barrington: Following the parade at Evergreen Cemetery.

Crystal Lake: Union Cemetery following the parade.

Huntley: In the Town Square immediately following the parade.

Spring Grove: Annual Memorial Day Ceremony takes place in Horse Fair park beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Woodstock: Ceremony will begin at the historic square at 10:30 a.m., parade to follow.
