July Events for Children with Special Needs

Weekly Events:

Open Play
Every Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
GiGi’s Playhouse, 5404 W. Elm St., McHenry
Families and their friends are invited to the playhouse for playtime. Open play helps promote positive beginnings for new families with a child with Down syndrome, creates awareness opportunities for peers and friends, and provides support and networking for families. Come ready for fun and a crazy good time! Open to families with children of all ages and their friends.

Single Day Events

ADHD & Sensory Workshop for Parents
9 August, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Dukes Alehouse and Kitchen, 110 North Main St., Crystal Lake
Maybe your child has been given a label of ADHD, ASD, SPD or maybe you just know in your gut there’s more going on with your child than other’s realize… it’s time to attend the Perfect Storm.Join Dr. Tony Ebel (Nationally Recognized Pediatric Wellness Expert) & Team at the Perfect Storm to learn more!Event is free to attend but registration is required. It will include food and drink, a presentation and a Q&A session. 

Kids Club
11 August, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
GiGi’s Playhouse, 5404 W. Elm St., McHenry
This program is designed to support the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting! Kids Club supports gross motor skills through active games, fine motor and self- help skills through meal/snack preparation and activities. Our Kids Club program is recommended for 8—12 year olds

LMNOP
25 August, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
GiGi’s Playhouse, 5404 W. Elm St., McHenry
Language Music N’ Our Peeps LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language based activities. LMNOP is recommended for ages Newborn-36 months. Fun new theme each month!
