Summer of ’69 Garden Party – September 7
{Port Barrington} Celebrate 50 YEars of Incorporation at the annual Garden Party in Hermann Park. Entertainment for kids and adults, face painting, ponies, music, and food.

Light up the Night – September 14
{McHenry} The inaugural “Live on the Riverwalk” event will feature family-friendly entertainment, the lighting of the fire globes, arts & crafts, food, music and more.

Cary Main Street Festival – September 14 & 15
{Cary} $5 entry,  Enjoy food,  music, bags tournament, a car show, and more at this two-day festival.

Touch-a-Truck and Petting Zoo – September 14
{Woodstock} Join the City of Woodstock and First Presbyterian Church for a free petting zoo, trucks to touch and climb, as well as pony rides and food (for a fee).

Volo Kite Fest – September 14
{Volo} Volo’s first kite fest will have a stunt kite flyer, food truck, and space to fly your own kite.

Fox Lake Fish Fest: Mayor’s Fish Fry – September 20
{Fox Lake} Enjoy a delicious Friday Night Fish Fry with the mayor.

Huntley Fall Festival – September 20-23
{Huntley}Huntley Fall Fest features three days of entertainment, a beer garden, food vendors, a full carnival midway, plenty of fall activities, and a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday night! It’s the can’t miss event of the year!

McHenry Community Oktoberfest – September 21
{McHenry} Arts & Crafts, music, food, games and more. Fun for the whole family.

Norge Ski Jumping & Food Truck Festival – September 21-22
{Fox River Grove} $15 entrance button. Ski jumpers from around the world will compete on the 70-meter hill. Food Trucks will be on hand selling pizza, slow-cooked BBQ, Mexican food, gourmet grilled cheese, and more. Discount tickets available online and at local merchants.

Annual Johnny Appleseed Festival – September 28
{Crystal Lake} Crystal Lake’s largest one-day event brings families and the community together to celebrate fall. Shelby tells you all about it here.

Art in the Barn – September 28 & 29
{Barrington} Fine art will be on display and ready for purchase to take home. New this year, children can enjoy a petting zoo and feed the animals or create their own art in the Children’s Art Tent.

Business & Community Expo – September 29
{Crystal Lake} Discover and connect with local small businesses in the community.

Fall Festival –October 6
{Ingelside} Hosted by Grant Township, this event features a Touch-a-Truck, inflatables, pony rides from Patch 22, a pie-eating contest, hayrides, and a pumpkin decorating contest.

Annual Cider Fest- October 6
{Union} In addition to free access to the museum, guests are invited to participate in an Apple Bake-Off, take home a variety of homemade apple treats and experience what it was like in a Civil War encampment with the 36 Wisconsin Voluntary Infantry.

Fox Lake Pumpkin Jubilee – October 12
{Fox Lake} Event will have food vendors and pumpkin carving and will end with lighting all the pumpkins on a wall.

Farmapalooza – October 13
{Woodstock} A benefit for GiGi’s Playhouse McHenry. Admission is $23 adults and $12 per child or a family pack for $80. Admission includes a pig roast, tours of the farm, pumpkin patch, face painting, and more.

Pumpkin Train – October 26 & 27
{Union} Pick up your pumpkin by train and enjoy some family-themed Halloween fun. Kids are encouraged to come in costume for a special treat!

Witches & Wizards of Woodstock – October 27
{Woodstock} The Hat is Back!: Once again the Woodstock Square will be transformed into a world of enchantment. This all-ages event features our magical hat, the Loyola University Lumus quidditch squad, fantasy-themed trivia contests, scavenger hunts, games, crafts, shopping, amazing food and all manner of entertainment.
