Woodstock Forth of July Fireworks will go on in 2020!
The show will be again on July 4 at Emricson Park, with modifications in compliance with COVID-19 reopening guidelines. The fireworks will follow the same rules as drive-in movie theaters. Emricson will be closed at 2 pm and reopened at 5 pm for firework parking. Cars will enter the park from South Street South Street and Woodstock Water Works entrance. No walk-ins or pedestrian traffic can be permitted due to distancing mandates. To help fund the event, a parking fee of $10 for each car will be charged and, to speed entry for the large number of cars anticipated, only cash can be accepted.
Vehicles needing handicapped parking must use the South Street entrance. PortaPotties and garbage cans will be available but no grilling, concessions, playground use, or vendors can be allowed. Viewers are strongly encouraged to be responsible for their personal safety, the safety of others, and for leaving the park in the clean condition they found it.
The celebration is one of the only fireworks displays planned for this area and large crowds are expected. Viewers are urged to arrive early as the gates will be closed once capacity is reached. The event is “all or nothing at all” and in the event of rain, will be cancelled, with donations used next year. Parking volunteers from 4:30pm to 8:30pm are needed and appreciated; contact [email protected].
Because time is short to raise the $16,000 to pay for the most fabulous 4th of July Fireworks event Woodstock has ever seen, we’ve set up this digital donation opportunity. Every dollar donated will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to pay for the 2020 fireworks.
Woodstock’s Fourth of July fireworks are by the people and for the people.
