City Band Concerts in the Square

July 1, 2020 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Woodstock Square

The City of Woodstock will host the 136th annual Woodstock City Band Season in the Park located on the downtown square in Woodstock Illinois on Wednesday evenings July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 & August 5, 2020.

Under Phase 4 guidelines these outdoor concerts will employ a mix of “Drive-in” style parking around the perimeter and south side of the Park in the Square as well as limited access to pedestrian traffic in the park itself. Pedestrians using space within the park will be subject to gathering in designated marked areas (where they must remain) with limitations on groups sizes and required social distancing practices. Those who attend in their vehicles will be assigned a location to park utilizing every other parking spot in order to implement social distancing. While attending concerts pedestrians within the park will be required to wear facemasks, as well as anyone who chooses not to remain in their vehicles, when moving outside of their designated areas. Attendees may bring food and beverages to consume but no alcoholic beverages will be permitted in or out of the park by attendees. In addition, no smoking or vaping will be permitted by either pedestrians or drive-in patrons.

The band will occupy space on the bandstand and off of the bandstand to provide proper social distancing for the musicians. Concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be approximately 45-60 minutes in length with no intermission planned. Portable toilets will be available for use by attendees and will be located on Dean Street at the rear of the Opera House.

It is clear that this Summer Band Concert Season will be quite different from those of the past and the success of these outdoor concerts will require the combined efforts of attendees, performers, volunteers and staff to properly protect ourselves and our community. We understand and appreciate that participation in these types of community events is a very personal choice, especially under these uncertain circumstances, and we respect and support those choices. Woodstock has a long tradition of presenting outstanding public events and a fine spirit of community cooperation which will undoubtedly aid in making these concerts a success.

Additional information will be made available at the individual concerts and throughout the season on the City’s websites and social media outlets as the season develops.
