3 for FREE! Tricks & Treats Edition

It’s a special Halloween edition with a weekend of FREE Halloween fun for families in McHenry County. There’s plenty more to do this weekend on our calendar.

Friday 26 October

6:30 p.m. 4th Annual Trunk or Treat, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ
{Crystal Lake} This free event provides a safe, fun environment for Trick or Treating for the entire community. Also offered for each person who attends is a free meal of hot dog, chips, and drink, a hayride, face-painting, cookie decorating, and a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.”

6:00 p.m. Halloween at the Y!, Sage YMCA
{Crystal Lake} Join us for a frighteningly fun filled event for the whole family. FREE for the Community and ALL are Welcome.

Saturday 27 October

All Day Halloween Comic Fest, Crystal Lake Public Library
{Crystal Lake} Come pick up a Halloween treat in the Youth Department, at the Library. We will have a free mini comic for each child, all rated “All ages”. While supplies last.

All Day Halloween Party, Nippersink Public Library
{Richmond} There will have a spooky storytime at 10:30 and crafts, games, and activities all day long. Dress up in your Halloween costume and join the fun!

All Day Take Home Craft: Spooky Halloween Craft, McHenry Public Library District
{McHenry} Stop by the Questions Desk to pick up supplies for a Spooky Halloween Witch craft. Available until supplies run out. All ages.

10:00 a.m. Halloween Family Storytime, Algonquin Area Public Library
{Algonquin} Dress up in your costume, hear some seasonal stories and come celebrate Halloween. There will parade through the library and a few giveaways will be handed out after storytime.

10:00 a.m. Trick or Treat, Main Beach
{Crystal Lake} Come dressed in your Halloween costume and bring your favorite Halloween bag to collect treats

11:00 a.m. Halloween Walk
{Cary} Join the Cary-Grove Chamber and business owners for Halloween Trick or Treating. The parade will be lead by 2018 Miss Cary-Grove Lanie Johnson.

12:00 p.m. Party in the Plaza
{Crystal Lake} Event includes face painting, petting zoo, touch-a-truck, trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting and more.

12:00 p.m. Trick-or-Treating, Ice House Mall
{Barrington} Trick or Treating at the Ice House Mall for all little ghosts, goblins and princesses at all stores. A Halloween Kids Craft Corner will also be available for trick or treaters!

12:30 p.m. Halloween Costume Party, Best Brains Learning Center
{Algonquin} Free for all kids! Come in costumes, make slime, decorate pumpkins and load up on candy. Celebrate Halloween Best Brains style!

1:00 p.m. Halloween Walk
{Fox River Grove} Join the Cary-Grove Chamber and business owners for Halloween Trick or Treating. The parade will be lead by 2018 Miss Cary-Grove Lanie Johnson.

1:00 p.m. Trunk or Treat, Richmond Police Department
{Richmond} Join the Richmond Police Department for a spectacular family event that provides a safe, fun, & Friendly alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating.

6:00 p.m. Halloween Hay Ride, Village Hall
{Holiday Hills} Hallowesn Hay Ride and costume contest.

Sunday 28 October

11:00 a.m. Halloween Fest, Village Hall
{Port Barrington} Fun for all! Costume contest for kids,  free lunch and entertainment.

1:00 p.m. Halloween Fest & Trunk or Treat, Chevy Buick GMC
{Harvard} Halloween Fest is a safe, family friendly, Halloween themed event, open to the public. Admission is FREE with ALL money collected benefiting local non-profit organizations. We will have FREE Trunk-or-Treating all afternoon, all-ages costume contests, pumpkin decorating contest, games, pony rides, balloon figures, and FREE Hot Dogs!

1:00 p.m. Halloween Party & Scavenger Hunt, Barnes & Noble
{Crystal Lake} There will be authors, prizes, a sing-along, costume parade, Storytime, and a scavenger hunt!

1:00 p.m. Trick or Treat Fun, Algonquin Commons
{Algonquin} Kids ages 0-12 for trick or treating at participating retailers. While candy supplies last.

3:00 p.m. Halloween Concert, Cary-Grove High School
{Cary} A joint Halloween concert with the McHenry County College Concert Band and the Crystal Lake Community Band. The concert will provide a fun-filled family event with spooky music performed by more than 100 musicians.

4:00 p.m. Trunk or Treat, Springbrook Community Church
{Huntley} Buzz Lightyear has gone missing at our annual Trunk or Treat party and we need your help to find him. Join us on a journey through Andy’s room, wearing cute or creative costumes. We will provide candy and fun!
